Practicing childcare
- Before practicing childcare, you can do some preliminary work at home and tell your child what childcare is, what is done there, and name the teachers — creating a positive image of the childcare facility.
- Childcare has a set daily routine (set times for eating, playing, and sleeping), so to make the adjustment easier, you should start following the care routine at home some time in advance.
- With the homework done, the homework and the teachers introduced, it’s time to start practicing .
- The first few days should be shorter — just a few hours of playtime from breakfast to lunch (9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.). You should definitely not sneak away when your child is playing, even if they start crying.
- Before leaving, you can explain to your child what they will be doing during the day and be optimistic that the day will definitely be great.
- The child is taken care of by a nanny who holds the child in her arms, engages them in an exciting game, or comforts them in some other way.
- The time spent in foster care increases over time . The pace at which a child should be accustomed to foster care depends very much on the child . It is important to note that adaptation takes time.
- First, it is necessary to safely familiarize yourself with the surroundings , and then the child will begin to interact with other children and educators.
- It’s good if your child has a safe companion from home with them. Whether it’s a teddy bear, blanket, or other item that provides a sense of security and comfort when they get homesick.
- It is also important to consider that during the period of getting used to childcare, the child may be stubborn, moody or tired after a day of childcare. It is important to make sure that when you get home from childcare, you set aside time that belongs only to the child.
- In case of questions, concerns, or joys, the parent communicates with the childcare staff to ensure cooperation and that starting childcare is a pleasant experience for all parties.
