House Rules

    • Childcare is open on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
    • Childcare is closed on public holidays .
    • According to the Holidays and Anniversaries Act, the working day at childcare facilities is shortened on the day before a public holiday. The working day is shortened by three hours.
    • The parent brings the child to childcare in the morning and personally hands the child over to the nanny.
    • Please inform the nanny if someone other than the mother or father will be picking up the child in the evening.
    • We ask that you pick up your child 30 minutes before the childcare closes so that you can talk to the babysitter about what happened during the day and get your child dressed.
    • If your child has not arrived at the daycare center by 9:00 a.m., they will be considered absent that day. If your child is absent and the daycare center is not notified by 9:00 a.m., the meal day will be recorded.
    • Please bring your child to childcare on time, meaning: – if your child is eating breakfast, no later than five minutes before the meal starts.
    • If your home address, email address, or phone number changes, please inform the childcare center.

    Clothing

    • Outdoor clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather;
    • When playing outside, bring clothes for your child that won’t cause problems if they get dirty.
    • During the summer, a thin, light-colored hat is necessary for going outside to protect the child from the sun. If necessary, the child should apply sunscreen at home before arriving at daycare.
    • During cooler periods, bring outdoor gloves (mittens) that won’t get dirty.
    • One set of change of underwear and clothes.
    • suitable replacement shoes (breathable and lightweight, ergonomic)
    • sleepwear;
    • a box of paper tissues;
    • if necessary, diapers, wet wipes and a comb (hair ties);

    NB! The child’s name must be written on clothes and shoes
     to avoid misunderstandings and having to change clothes.

    The parent regularly, at least once a week, organizes the child’s closet, takes away dirty clothes and replaces them with the necessary clean clothes. The parent takes away winter clothes and shoes in the spring when the warm weather arrives.

    Payment of childcare fees

    • Food costs are calculated for the previous month. Venue fees and recreational activities fees are for the current month.
    • Missed days or childcare days that fall on public holidays will not be offset or replaced.
    • The invoice payment deadline is included in the invoice, which is sent to the parent’s email at the beginning of the month.

    Toys

    • It is not permitted to bring personal toys from home to the daycare. The daycare staff is not responsible for any broken or lost toys. Toy guns and sharp objects, jewelry/toys that are easily broken and contain small parts are not allowed.
    • Recommended – the child may bring a personal safety item (cushion, blanket) with them to childcare.

    Diseases

    • A babysitter is not allowed to accept a child who has a fever, a stomachache, an eye infection, or pediculosis (lice). Coughs and colds are also illnesses that are transmitted from child to child and require treatment.
    • A babysitter is prohibited from giving medication to children in childcare (except for first aid).
    • If your child becomes ill at daycare, the nanny will contact you immediately.

    Collaboration

    • Good cooperation between parents and childminders is the basis for children’s adaptation and a sense of security in childcare. This, in turn, promotes the child’s development in every way.

    All problems are solvable! We just need to talk about them.

    Sincerely,
    Põnnila Childcare
